Global Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (GIPER) is one of the premier pharmacy academic and innovative research institutes of India. It is situated in the city of Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand and is managed by Krishna Memorial Trust (KMT) comprising of scientists and educationists with the aim of providing excellence in education in pharmaceutical sciences. It offers D. Pharm, B. Pharm. and M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical chemistry) courses of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun and UBTE, Roorkee and is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Govt. of India, New Delhi.
Apart from providing excellence in academics, GIPER inculcates human values and professional ethics in students through a highly educated and experienced faculties from India and abroad. It has an excellent library with a number of text and references books and different national and international journals with internet facilities including Wi-Fi access. The institute is well equipped with state of art facilities for drug discovery research. It puts emphasis on research and has successfully completed research projects under CSIR-OSDD scheme. It is continuing collaborative research under Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia, Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR), Lucknow, InterBioScreen Ltd., Chernogolovka, Moscow Region, Russia, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece and Institute of Biomedical Chemistry of Rus. Acad. Med. Sci., Moscow, Russia.
GIPER is the first pharmacy institution of India which organized an International Seminar on Pharmaceutical Education and Research in its first year of establishment in 2010 which was attended by eminent scientists and researchers from USA, Germany, Italy, Russia, France, Greece, Hong Kong and Canada etc. It has organised several seminars such as the International Symposium on Drug Design and Development Research (DDDR-2021), International Symposium on Current Trends in Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences (CTPMS-2020), International seminar on Global Trends in Health and Environment (2016), National seminar cum workshop on Computer-Aided Drug Design (NSWCADD) supported by Schrodinger Inc., USA in 2012, all of which were organized in GIPER, Kashipur and the 9th International Symposium on Computational Methods in Toxicology and Pharmacology Integrating Internet Resources (CMTPI-2017) was organized at Goa. The institute has produced several gold medallists in the past years in the stream of pharmacy. The passed-out ex-students of GIPER are well placed in pharmaceutical sector.
