How to reach Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, India

The University is situated on Chakrata Road. One can take Chakrata Road directly from the heart of the city Ghantaghar (Clock Tower) or through General Mahadev Singh Road. From Ghantaghar, the University is approximately 12 km on Chakrata Road (after crossing Premnagar area).

By Plane

Jolly Grant Airport Jolly Grant Airport, also known as Dehradun Airport, is a domestic airport located about 22 km (14 mi) southeast of Dehradun, and 30 km (19 mi) from Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The airport is situated on Hardwar Bye pass Road. (Indian Airlines (indian-airlines.nic.in) and Jet Airways (jetairways.com) operates several daily flights between Dehradun and Delhi. Further, connecting flights are available to some major cities including Lucknow and Mumbai. To reach city from airport, it is 20 km away. It takes about one hour to reach University from the airport. There is no direct bus service to reach here. One can avail private taxi service available at airport, or hotels may provide their own arrangements.

By Train

Dehradun is a major railway station and a terminus in Uttarakhand. It is well connected to rail. From Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Allahabad, Kolkata, Gorakhpur, Amritsar, Indore, Ujjain and Chennai. Here are some useful trains to reach Dehradun. It takes 30 minutes to reach University from Railway Station.

By Bus

Deluxe, Volvo, Semi-deluxe and ordinary Uttarakhand State buses depart every hour from ISBT, Kashmere Gate in New Delhi and Anand Vihar in Ghaziabad. There is also an overnight deluxe A/C service run by Uttarakhand Tourism. It is a six to seven hours journey from Delhi. Dehradun bus station is located about 12 km away from the University. If you are coming from Delhi side, the trains will generally be more convenient.

By Car

Dehradun is a 6 hours’ drive from Delhi, but unless you leave Delhi very early in the morning, you will encounter traffic that makes the trip significantly longer. The road is not very wide. There may be many slow-moving vehicles at harvest times, and pilgrims walking on the road in late July and early August.
